Application of Intensive Cooling

The Ultra Fast Cooling Technology (UFC) makes it possible to substantially decrease the strip coiling temperature after hot rolling. The process results in increased strength, reduced alloying costs, more stable mechanical properties and much less adherent scale.

The Air Cushion can Stabilise galvanised
strips

The air cushion system has been tested on an industrial scale and proved to reduce the strip oscillations by a factor 2.

Validation of the Dynamic EAF Model

The dynamic arc furnace control model has been implemented at the Esch-Belval works, where it confirmed its suitability to predict operating parameters

Other Important Events in 2004

The RIM Project has gone through with a
grant from the ERDF
